This project is a contemporary take on the traditional rural Irish farm house. The scale and form draws inspiration directly from the traditional vernacular but the openings have been exaggerated to allow greater quantities of natural light to penetrate the interiors. In this instance the separate functions of the house have been sectioned off with one wing being the ”private” wing containing the bedrooms, utility, office, etc. while the other wing is the ”public” containing the kitchen, dining and living areas. These are then joined by a link which is also the main entrance point.
